How we reviewed this: HHZ didn’t test this concentrator hands-on. This review is written from the manufacturer’s user manual, spec sheet and product page, linked below, plus a U.S. retail price checked on 13 October 2026. We don’t report comfort, noise or reliability impressions we haven’t measured. Your prescriber decides whether a pulse-dose or continuous-flow device meets your needs.

Source conflicts we found
- Weight: the page title says “2.8 lb”, but the same page’s specs and the manual say 2.9 lb with the standard battery.
- Recharge time: the product page lists up to 3 hours for the standard battery; the manual lists up to 3 hours 30 minutes for the BA-400.
- Service life: the manual states 8 years. Inogen’s product FAQ says “up to 8 years when used less than 5 hours per day”.
Who it suits
| You… | Fit |
|---|---|
| Are prescribed pulse setting 1–4 | Good |
| Need more than 840 mL/min or setting 5–6 | Choose the Rove 6 |
| Need continuous flow or oxygen during sleep with CPAP | Not suitable; see pulse vs continuous |
| Want the lightest unit | Strong choice |
Verdict
From the documents, the Rove 4 is the lightest Inogen unit, at 2.9 lb, and comes with Inogen’s 8-year rated service life. The trade-off is a ceiling of 840 mL/min and short standard-battery runtime. If your prescription might rise, the Rove 4 vs Rove 6 comparison is worth reading first.
