ClimateLineAir 11 heated tubing vs SlimLine

3 min read By HHZ Editorial Next review

ClimateLineAir 11 is ResMed's heated tube for the AirSense 11 and AirCurve 11. With a HumidAir 11 tub it enables Climate Control: Auto sets the tube to 80°F, holds 85% relative humidity and is designed to prevent rainout. SlimLine (15 mm, 6 ft) and standard (19 mm, 6 ft 6 in) tubing are unheated, and the humidifier then runs at levels 1–8. On ResMed's eShop on 13 October 2026, ClimateLineAir 11 was $49 and SlimLine $37. If you get water in your tube or mask, heated tubing is the documented fix.

How we compiled this: from ResMed’s AirSense 11 user guide and the AirCurve 11 user guide, plus prices from ResMed’s eShop checked on 13 October 2026. HHZ didn’t test the tubing.

Climate Control: Auto vs Manual

SettingWhat ResMed says it does
Auto (default, recommended)Tube at 80°F (adjustable 60–86°F or off); humidity held at 85% relative humidity; protects against rainout
ManualSet temperature and humidity separately; rainout protection isn’t guaranteed. If rainout happens, raise the tube temperature first

Humidity output by tubing (AirSense 11 guide)

Tubing and settingRelative humidity at 72°F roomAbsolute humidity
SlimLine or standard, humidity 4 (default)80%6 mg/L or more
SlimLine or standard, humidity 8 (max)100%Over 12 mg/L
ClimateLineAir 11, Climate Control Auto85%12 mg/L or more

So heated tubing in Auto gives humidity comparable to the top unheated setting, while warming the tube to reduce condensation.

Troubleshooting from ResMed’s guide

ProblemResMed’s suggestion
Dry or blocked noseIncrease the humidity level
Water droplets on your nose, in the mask or tubingDecrease humidity, or increase tube temperature
Very dry mouthAir may be escaping through your mouth; consider a chin strap or full-face mask

More in CPAP rainout, CPAP dry mouth and CPAP nasal congestion.

Verdict

If you use an AirSense 11 or AirCurve 11 with the humidifier and wake to water in the tube or mask, ClimateLineAir 11 is the documented fix, for $12 more than SlimLine at ResMed’s prices. If you don’t use the humidifier or never get rainout, SlimLine is cheaper. Tubing has a 90-day ResMed warranty, so plan regular replacements (CPAP supplies schedule).
