ResMed AirFit F40 review: specs and price

3 min read By HHZ Editorial Next review

The ResMed AirFit F40 is a minimal full-face mask that seals under the nose and around the mouth, rated 4–30 cmH2O. With its QuietAir vent ring ResMed lists 20 dBA sound power, tied with the AirTouch F30i for the lowest of the full-face masks we've compared. It uses magnetic clips, so ResMed's implant warnings apply. It cost $163 on ResMed's eShop on 13 October 2026, between the F20 ($155) and F30i ($167). This review is based on ResMed's user guide, not hands-on testing.

Magnet warning

ResMed says masks with magnetic parts are contraindicated where the user, or anyone in close contact during use, has active implants that interact with magnets (such as pacemakers or implantable defibrillators) or metallic implants such as aneurysm clips, embolic coils, stents, some hearing implants, ocular implants or metal splinters in the eye. Ask your doctor if any apply. Nasal options without magnets include the AirFit N30 and P10.

Verdict

From the documents, the F40 ties with the AirTouch F30i as ResMed’s quietest full-face option on paper when fitted with the QuietAir vent ring, with a minimal under-nose design and a mid-range price. Choose the F20 instead if you need pressures above 30 cmH2O, or the F30i if you want the tube on top of your head.
