BC CPAP funding on income or disability assistance

1 min read By HHZ Editorial Next review

BC’s ministry can fund a CPAP machine for people on disability assistance, and some on income assistance, but pre-approval is a legal requirement. You need a quote, overnight testing within the previous 6 months, and a 30-day trial report showing use at least 80% of the time for at least 4 hours a night. Other sources such as Fair PharmaCare, ICBC, WorkSafeBC, VAC or private insurance must be used first.

This guide is written from the BC government’s medical equipment and devices policy for service providers, read on 14 October 2026. Check with the ministry before you buy.
